At the way-top of a hill near Monaco lies a fancy overpriced hotel called the Chevre d'Or. Just down from that hotel is a chintzy tourist shop, where my friend and confidante Sarah and I bought these plated French girl name necklaces this summer -- she was Benedicte, I was Victoire. Part of us still are.
